Yangon United suffered a 4-0 defeat to PSM Makassar today in the playoff stage of AFC Cup 2023/24

Yangon allowed the first goal in 5 minutes and the goal was scored by Adilson. The lads got a corner kick and crossed to the goal area, but the keeper palmed it away. And Everton kept the ball when it spilled to 18 yards and hit it to the net. Valencia possessed a chance, but the keeper saved it, and the first half was led by PSM Makassar 2-0.
The third leading goal was found by Sayuri following a fourth leading goal by Aldison’s bicycle kick. Yangon made changes in the second half, and substitute Zarni Htet crossed the ball from the right wing to the goal area where Valencia was waiting. But Valencia’s attempt was saved by the keeper. At the final whistle, Yangon United lost 4-0 to PSM Makassar.
At the press conference, Yangon United Head Coach Gerd Zeise said, “Congratulations to PSM Makassar for the win. It was a simple thing that they won the match with the presence of physically strong four players. We could not handle it. They are physically totally stronger than our teams. So there is no chance of a win for us. But I can’t complain about my team because I saw the team kept marching and trying to get a chance but could not score. And I appreciate their performance.”
