Lions sealed the season with sharing points
Yangon United shared the points in the last match of Myanmar National League 2022 against Ayeyawady United today at Thuwunna stadium.
Lions started the match with a 4-3-3 formation to face the opponent, and they could dominate the match from whistle to whistle. In 26 minutes, Lamin Htwe tried to head to the net when Zarni Htet crossed the ball from the right wing, and he missed the chance. Although Yangon possessed chances to lead the match, the opponent’s defender denied not allow any goals, and the first half went to a goalless draw.
In the second half, the lads geared up to find a goal. In 63 minutes, Lamin Htwe and Zarni Htet were replaced by Htet Phyo Wai and Saw Kyaw Ae. In 3 minutes later, Kyaw Min Oo and Thiha Htet Aung were substituted by Yan Kyaw Soe and Pyae Phyo Zaw to find a goal. However, Ayeyawady responded in a strong position in the defense that made Yangon hard to earn a single goal. At the final whistle, Yangon United shared the point with Ayeyawady United.
Yangon United interim Head Coach U Kyaw Dunn said, “We could dominate the match, but it was a tough game. Our players kept patience and waited for the chance to score, but the opponent could handle their attacking. However, I’m satisfied with their performance.”
Yangon United say bye to the Myanmar National League 2022 standing in second place with 39 points and book a ticket to the AFC Cup 2023.
