Lions keep paving their way to victory after beating Hantharwady United 2-0 today at Yangon United Sports Complex, and Sylla and Yan Kyaw Htwe scored for the team.
The squad come out with 4-3-3, and the lads geared up to press the opponent. In 26 minutes, Yangon led the match with a heading goal from Sylla when David Htan crossed the ball to the goal area. Both teams kept searching for a goal till the break, and Yangon led 1-0 ahead of Hantharwady.
In 66 minutes, Yangon made some changes with Yan Kyaw Htwe and Okkar Naing in the place of Sylla and Sa Aung Pyae Ko. Ten minutes later, Yan Naing Oo and David Htan were replaced by Lamin Htwe and Htet Lin Soe to find more goals. In 82 minutes, Zaw Win Thein got a chance to score, but his attempt missed the net. In additional times, substitute Yan Kyaw Htwe sealed the victory with his goal with an assist from Zaw Win Thein. Yangon United ended the match with a 2-0 over Hantharwady United.
Afterward, midfielder Zaw Win Thein was chosen as Man of the Match and awarded the prize by Yangon United Vice-President U Min Swe Oo.
Yangon United Head Coach U Kyaw Dunn said, “I am satisfied with the result. This was the meeting of strong teams, and we had some mistakes as the lads were thirsty for victory”.
Yangon United stand in second place after 9 matches played, 8 wins, 1 loss earning 24 points, and coming July 5th, the lads will face Shan United at Thuwunna stadium.
