Lions keep on track beating GFA 2-0
Yangon keep on track beating GFA 2-0, and the winning goals were netted by Kyaw Phyo Wai and Lamin Htwe in week 18 of Myanmar National League 2022.
The coach displayed his squad with 4-3-3, and he made some changes to his previous starting list. In the first half, Yangon could dominate the match to press the opponent and possessed some of the great to score. However, the opponent goalkeeper could deny leveling at the break.
In the second half, the lads put more effort to find a leading goal. In 48 minutes, GFA defenders intercepted badly to Htet Phyo Wai, and the referee awarded a penalty to Yangon. Junior was assigned to score a penalty, and he did not turn it into a goal as his kick hit the goal bar and bounced back. In 79 minutes, a heading of Kyaw Phyo Wai broke the deadlock when Zaw Win Thein crossed the ball from the corner. Two minutes later, the substitute Lamin Htwe headed a second leading goal for Yangon to seal the victory.
After the match, Yangon United’s interim Head Coach said, “We had some mistakes committed in the first half and in the second half too. But I am satisfied with the result”.
Now the lads earned 35 points from 16 plays, 11 wins, 2 draws, and 3 losses standing in second place, and they will face Yadanarbon on November 7th at Thuwunna stadium.
