Yangon United share points with Shan United
Yangon United shared points with Shan United today at Yangon United Sports Complex in the week-11 of Myanmar National League 2023.
The squad shaped a 4-3-3 formation to face the opponent, and Columbia striker Valencia made his first debut with the team. Nanda Kyaw tried to open a leading goal in 16 minutes, but Sann Satt Naing saved it well. Then in 31 minutes, Zaw Win Thein made a nice cross to the goal area, however, Hein Zeyar Lin’s attempt was denied by the Shan United keeper.
After the restart, the lads geared up to find a goal. In 49, 52, and 63 minutes, the lads possessed chances through free kicks, and their shots were blocked by the opponent’s defence. In 68 minutes of the match, Hlaing Bo Bo and Sylla were replaced by Yan Kyaw Soe and Okkar Naing to press the opponent. The lads kept seeking a leading goal, and in 75 minutes, Valencia saw the chance to score taking advantage of the opponent’s mistake, and he could not turn it into a goal. Again in 81 minutes, a heading of Valencia to the net was saved by the opponent’s keeper. Both teams could open a goal till the final whistle and share the points.
Yangon United Head Coach U Kyaw Dunn said, “That’s a fair result. Both teams wanted to win, and it was a great match, and we got chances too.”
Yangon United now earns 25 points from 10 played, 8 wins, 1 draw, and 1 loss standing in second place, and the lads will face ISPE on 10th July at Thuwunna stadium.
