Yangon United kicked off the second round with an emphatic 5-1 victory over Dagon Port today at the Yangon United Sports Complex.
The match began with a fast start, as Yangon United took the lead early, with Yan Kyaw Htwe scoring in the 8th minute. However, Dagon Port responded quickly, leveling the score just two minutes later through Mogou. Despite the setback, Yangon United kept their attacking play, and David Htan found the back of the net to restore the lead just before halftime, making it 2-1.
After the break, heavy rain caused a 15-minute pause, but once the game resumed, Yangon United continued their dominance. Yan Naing Oo added a third goal, finishing off a brilliant assist from Aee Soe. In the 76th minute, a corner kick from Zaw Win Thein found Kaung Sithu, who slotted home with a close-range finish to extend the lead further. Aee Soe then capped off the performance, netting the final goal to secure a comprehensive 5-1 victory for Yangon United.
Head coach U Kyaw Dunn praised his players after the match, stating, “I want to congratulate our lads for their superb performance against three foreign players in Dagon Port. I want to thank our fans for their support.”
With this win, Yangon United stand in third place with 30 points after 12 matches, boasting 9 wins and 3 draws. The team will face Hantharwady United next on November 3rd at Thuwunna Stadium.
