The last match hat-trick winner Yan Kyaw Htwe was back to the starting list. The first meeting was a 3-0 win over GFA and the lads could maintain their performance to face the opponent. The first goal opener was defender Hein Zayar Lin heading closely to the net from Yan Naing Oo’s wonderful cross ball to assist him in the 11th minute. Again Yan Naing Oo provided a pass rivalling against the opponent’s defenders to Yan Kyaw Htwe who followed from the left side and Yan Kyaw Htwe attempted to score. But his attempts went over the post. The lads kept pushing to find more goals and Yan Kyaw Htwe added a second leading goal to break the first half.
In the second half, Yaya and Tetteh were replaced by Thurein Soe and Oakkar Naing. Oakkar Naing made attempts to find a goal, however, his drive was in vain and went over the post. Abubakar was replaced by Hlaing Bo Bo in 65 minutes, Yan Kyaw Htwe and Wai Lin Aung were substituted by Lamin Htwe and Zaw Win Thein in 76 minutes. Zaw Win Thein dribbled the defenders and paved the ball to Oakkar Naing who finished the attempt over the goal post. In 86 minutes, Zaw Win Thein’s drive to the net was bounced back from the last defender and La Min Htwe received to hit to the net in 86 minutes. The lads could seal the match with a 3-0 victory over GFA at the end.
Yangon United Head Coach Frank Bernhardt said, “It was a little bit difficult and the first half was too slow. But we can make a leading goal”.
Yangon United earned 21 points from 7 matches and they will continue their last group stage journey against Mahar United on 19th May at Thuwunna stadium.
