Yangon United beat Irrawaddy United by a goal.
Yangon United secured a 4-1 victory over Ayeyawady United today at the Yangon United Sports Complex, at 3:30 pm.
The match saw Ayeyawady take an early lead with a header from Thiha in the 10th minute. However, Yangon United quickly responded, with Yan Kyaw Htwe equalizing in the 19th minute. He then doubled the score in the additional time of the first half, giving Yangon a 2-1 lead going into the break.
In the second half, Kyi Lin was substituted by Nyan Lin Htet to boost Yangon’s attacking play. The move paid off as Yan Naing Oo added a third goal after a spill from Zaw Win Thein’s attempt. Later, substitutes Kaung Sithu and Thar Yar Win Htet came on for Yan Kyaw Htwe and Ye Lin Htet to maintain the offensive pressure. Thar Yar Win Htet then sealed the victory with a late goal in additional time.
Head coach U Kyaw Dunn expressed, “We need some improvements in future matches. And thanks to their performance and goals we worked on during our training session.”
With this win, Yangon United now has 20 points from 8 matches, including 6 wins and 2 draws. Their next match is scheduled for September 15th against Dagon Port at Thuwunna Stadium.
