Lions open second round with victory showering goals on GFA
Yangon United earned 9-0 over GFA today in Myanmar National League 2023 (second round) at Yangon United Sports Complex. Goals for Yangon were found by Valencia, Okkar Naing, Habila, Sylla, and Yan Kyaw Htwe.
The head coach made changes with a 3-5-2 formation dominating the opponent throughout whistle to whistle. Habila opened a leading goal in five minutes when Yan Naing Oo crossed the ball to the goal area. In 11 minutes, a heading of Sylla made a lead, and Valencia netted his first goal of the Myanmar National League in 16 minutes. Then Valencia got the taste of goal scoring and added his second and third goals in 26 and 30 minutes. The Lions led the match 5-0 ahead of GFA at the interval.
In the second half, Min Kyaw Khant was replaced by Okkar Naing. The substitute Okkar Naing scored a sixth goal of the match from an assist of Zaw Win Thein. Two minutes later, Valencia scored another leading goal in 58 minutes, and substitute Yan Kyaw Htwe added an eighth goal. Afterward, Okkar Naing sealed the victory with his goal in 68 minutes to win 9-0 over GFA.
After the match, Yangon United Head Coach U Kyaw Dunn said, “The result of the match is crucial in football. I am satisfied with their hard work today”.
Yangon United stands in second place after 12 plays, 10 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss, and 31 points, and coming July 24th, the lads will face Myawady at Thuwunna stadium.
