The match began with both teams attacking aggressively, and the visitors took an early lead in the 6th minute through Naing Win Tun. Yangon United responded with determination and managed to equalize in first-half stoppage time, thanks to winger Oakkar Naing.
In the second half, Yangon quickly gained an advantage in the 48th minute when Thitsar Arman’s Saw Htoo Pwe Moo scored an own goal following a dangerous cross from Yangon defender Zin Ko Htet. However, Thitsar Arman leveled the score in the 60th minute through Saw Myo Zaw.
Yangon made strategic substitutions to regain control, and midfielder Wai Lin Aung secured the winning goal in the 80th minute, ensuring a hard-fought 3-2 victory.
Head coach U Kyaw Dunn remarked after the match, “ Our players didn’t perform at their best despite earning three points. I also want to congratulate the opponent for their efforts.”
Yangon United now has 34 points from 14 matches, 10 wins, 4 draws and will face Mahar United next at Thuwunna Stadium on January 11th, 2025.
