Yangon United shared points with Hantharwady United after a 1-1 draw
Yangon United drew 1-1 with Hantharwady United today at Yangon United Sports Complex. La Min Htwe opened a leading goal through a penalty and Kyaw Myo Naing from Hantharwady United pulled back a goal in late minutes.
Even the both teams struggled for the goals, they could not make a burst a silence till the break. Then Yangon United took an early lead through La Min Htwe’s penalty, awarded after a foul on David Htan in the penalty area, thirteen minutes into the second half. However, Hantharwady United equalized in the 73rd minute with Kyaw Myo Naing scoring from a corner kick. Despite both teams’ efforts to secure a winning goal, they were unable to break the deadlock before the final whistle, resulting in a shared point each.
Yangon United head coach U Kyaw Dunn said, “Although our fans made a strong support, we could not pay it back. A draw felt like a defeat for us.”
Following this result, Yangon United have accumulated 7 points from their first 3 matches of the season, consisting of 2 wins and 1 draw. Their next fixture is scheduled for July 27th at home against Mahar United, again at the Yangon United Sports Complex.
