Lions earn consecutive win beating Yadanarbon 4-0
Lions earned a consecutive win beating Yadanarbon 4-0 in Myanmar National League week 19 today at Yangon United Sports Complex. Yan Kyaw Htwe doubled the score while David Htan and Zaw Win Thein scored a goal each in a thrilling match.
Yangon United competed without foreign players today, and Yan Kyaw Htwe and La Min Htwe featured in the front line of a 4-4-2 formation.
David Htan put the Lions ahead of the opponent in 25 minutes with an assist from Yan Kyaw Htwe. A minute later, Yan Kyaw Htwe doubled the result with his goal to break the first half with 2-0 ahead of Yadanarbon.
Yadanarbon attempted to find a way to pull back a goal, however, the defenders were in their best form and excelled to block their attack. Then Yangon got a third leading goal in 56 minutes of the match, and Yan Kyaw Htwe made a drive to the net when the ball was spilled from the keeper. The coach made changes in 70 minutes with Okkar Naing and Yan Kyaw Soe in the place of David Htan and Hlaing Bo Bo. Three minutes later, Yan Kyaw Htwe and Yan Naing Oo were replaced by Sa Aung Pyae Ko and Nyan Lin Htet. The last winning goal for Yangon was sealed by Zaw Win Thein to end the match 4-0 over Yadanarbon.
Yangon United Head Coach Gerd Zeise said, “We played this week without foreign players. The team shows they are able to play with locals. The only foreigner was on the bench, and it was me. I promised the spectators to show good football, probably a good result we got.”
Yangon United earned 44 points from 14 wins, 2 draws, and 2 losses standing in second place, and coming November 26th, the lads will face Hantharwady United at Thuwunna Stadium.
