Yangon United secured a 4-1 win over Rakhine United today at Thuwunna Stadium in week 14 of Myanmar National League 2023. Goals from Sylla and Valencia sealed victory for Yangon United.
For today’s match, U Tin Maung Tun managed the team as an interim head coach and featured the squad with 4-4-2. Just 4 minutes into the first half, Sylla opened the scoring for Yangon. He kept pressing the opponent, and his heading hit the bar and bounced back. The lads’ lead was doubled after Valencia netted a goal in the 10th minute. However, the opponent pulled back a goal by Traore in the 24th minute. The lads could dominate the match and find to score more goals. In the 32nd minute, Valencia headed to the net when Zaw Win Thein crossed the ball to the goal area from the corner. The fourth leading goal was found by Sylla in the 35th minute to break the first half with 4-1 ahead of Rakhine United.
In the second half, the lads sought goals, and the coach made four changes with Yan Kyaw Htwe, Okkar Naing, Sa Aung Pyae Ko, and Ye Lin Htet in the place of Valencia, Yan Naing Oo, David Htan, and Zarni Htet. The opponent blocked in a solid form not to allow a single in the second half, and the lads earned three points after beating 4-1 over Rakhine United.
