Yangon United suffer defeat to Myawady 3-2
Yangon United suffered a defeat to Myawady 3-2 today at Thuwunna stadium in the week-13 of Myanmar National League 2023.
The squad came out with 3-5-2, and Yangon could press the opponent in the early minutes. In 24 minutes, the lads led the match with a goal of David Htan from Zaw Win Thein’s assist. The opponent equalized the result in the additional time of the first half by Thet Paing Ko to draw at the interval.
The head coach made changes in the second half with Okkar Naing and Zarni Htet in the place of Sylla and Hein Zeyar Lin. Valencia got chances in 48 minutes and 52 minutes when substitute Okkar Naing created the way to score. However, he was weak in finishing. The second leading goal was found by David Htan taking the advantage of opponent’s mistakes. In 58 minutes, Myawady found the chance to pull back a goal and netted by Hein Zeyar Min. Then opponent sealed their victory in 73 minutes by Min Ko Thu. Yangon kept fighting till the last minutes, and the lads could not add a goal. At the final whistle, Yangon United lost to Myawady 3-2.
Yangon United Head Coach U Kyaw Dunn said, “I want to congratulate Myawady for victory. This is football, and if we can’t use the chance well, we have to pay for it.”
Yangon United stand in second place with 13 plays and 10 wins, 1 draw, and 2 losses earning 31 points. The lads will face Rakhine United at Thuwunna Stadium on 31st July.
