2023 with a victory over GFA 5-0. Win Naing Tun scored his first hat trick of 2023, and Kaung Htet Soe and Okkar Naing earned a goal each today.
The squad came out with a 4-3-3 formation to face GFA, and Win Naing Tun opened a leading goal in 20 minutes. Then he added another second and third leading goal for Yangon to break the first half with victory.
10 minutes after the restart, Kaung Htet Soe found his goal with the assistance of Yan Naing Oo. The fifth leading goal for Yangon was earned by substitute Okkar Naing’s left-footed hit driving to the left corner of the post when David Htan hit a free kick. In additional time, the referee awarded a penalty, and Yan Kyaw Htwe could not turn it a goal. At the final whistle, Yangon United won 5-0 over GFA.
Furthermore, Win Naing Tun recorded his name in the 2023 Myanmar National League as a first hat-trick scorer.
After the match, Yangon United Head Coach U Kyaw Dunn said, “Our lads knew this match was the first step to open their season and played well. They had been trained well in the training session, and they craved their way to earn victory”.
